Tracy Downing has been obsessed with dogs since she first fell in love with Snoopy as a little girl. Growing up in the Midwest, she spent much of her time outdoors playing with animals and knew she wanted a career in the Pet Industry from a young age. She began her career studying under her mother Karen, learning to groom a variety of Spaniels and Sporting breeds. When she moved to California she discovered her next greatest passion, teaching. In 2009 she became the regional Grooming Academy Instructor for PetSmart and led training and certification courses for all southern California. As an AKC Master Groomer, Tracy’s places great emphasis on education and continued learning in her salon. She founded Cali Pets in 2017 with a mission to change the grooming industry. By fostering a culture of professionalism and higher education among the team, stylists are encouraged to pursue their passions, hone their skills, and unleash their creativity. When Tracy is not at Cali Pets, she and husband Josh Downing can be found at home cooking for friends and family or camping with their Standard Poodles Chewbacca and Reese, and Labrador Retriever Rolo.
Aside from being a rockstar groomer, Lori is a mom of two sweet toddlers. She has been in the grooming industry since 2011 and is still digging it every day! Lori has always had an attention to detail so expect nothing but great quality with her work! Once competition season comes up, plan to see her doing her thing on stage to keep bettering herself for you and your pup!
Ashley is an enthusiastic, fun, groomer who loves all animals. She has been working with animals since 2015 as a pet sitter, veterinary assistant and now a dog groomer. She has a newly found interest in carding Spaniels and hopes to enter a grooming competition with one soon. On her days off, you will find her chasing beautiful views and good eats around San Diego with her dog Jango.

Yoza is Cali Pet’s human relations and pet nutrition associate! From scheduling appointments, overseeing salon safety and organization, to stocking your pet’s nutritious food, Yoza maintains smooth operations of the salon. Her favorite role at Cali Pets is ensuring customer satisfaction, and loves helping you and your pet find nutritious and delicious food! When she is not at Cali Pets holding down the fort, she likes to explore new places and try new things around San Diego with her daughter, Camila.

Melissa brings heart, experience, and a deep love for animals to everything she does. With over six years of experience in pet retail and pet care, she’s passionate about helping pet parents find the right solutions tailored to each furry client’s unique needs. Whether it’s choosing the best food, selecting the perfect treat, or finding gear and toys that truly fit a pet’s lifestyle, Melissa takes the time to understand both pets and their people. Her favorite part of the job is seeing pets thrive, happy, healthy, and full of life, knowing she played a role in their care. She was drawn to this field by her lifelong love of animals and her natural instinct to nurture and support them. When she’s not helping customers in-store, Melissa enjoys unwinding with a good book, thrifting for hidden gems, and spending quality time at the park with her dog. Tyla has been grooming dogs since 2004 and cats since 2006. She most enjoys terrier clips and curly coated breeds such as poodles and doodles. She truly enjoys making sure each pet is happy and feels and looks their best. She is originally from Ohio and groomed in an animal hospital for 13 years before relocating to California. She’s a mother of 3 kids, a lab-mix named Cesar and a cat named Waffles. She loves the beach and everything California has to offer.
Emily grew up surrounded by a fabulous fur-family of cats and dogs. Today, she is the proud pet parent of Calla (Rottweiler), Willow (Doberman), Kane (Mastiff), and Maggie (Heeler mix). In 2020, Emily started her journey to become a groomer at Cali Pets. She graduated from the Cali Pets Professional Bather Program in 2021 and went right on to complete the Cali Pets Professional Pet Stylist program, graduating in 2022. Emily has a calm energy that puts pets at ease. When Emily is not at work making pets feel fresh and relaxed, you can find her at home gardening with her four-legged landscapers by her side.
Sabrina brings over 12 years of professional grooming experience and a genuine love for animals that shines through in every appointment. Known for her attention to detail, she takes pride in perfecting breed-standard haircuts, especially for spaniels and terriers, while always prioritizing each pet’s comfort, safety, and overall well-being. Her calm, compassionate approach helps pets feel at ease, making every visit a positive experience. A valued member of Cali Pets since its opening in 2018, Sabrina has since become an entrepreneur in San Diego. Even so, she still makes the drive to continue working alongside her longtime friends and team at Cali Pets. When she’s not helping dogs look and feel their best, you’ll likely find her exploring the outdoors, whether relaxing on a beach, wandering a trail, or discovering a warm, vibrant destination full of life.
Millie has spent the past three years in the pet industry, driven by a genuine passion for helping pets look and feel their very best. A proud dog mom to Maisie and Mustard, she has a special soft spot for grooming Pomeranians and Australian Shepherds. Millie is dedicated to creating a positive, stress-free grooming experience for every dog that comes through the door. Recently stepping into her role as Social Media Manager at Cali Pets, Millie brings creativity and energy to showcasing the salon’s fun, vibrant atmosphere and premium pet products. With a love for all forms of art, from fur to media, she channels her creativity both at work and in her free time; you might find her painting or roller skating.
Destiny joined the Cali Pets team of professional pet stylists in March 2026, bringing both passion and experience to her role. She’s been grooming for 4 years. She especially loves working with Pomeranians and enjoys the creativity and precision that grooming allows. Destiny first got into grooming as a way to better care for her own dogs, and that personal connection continues to inspire the dedication she brings to every pet she works with. Outside of the salon, she enjoys baking at home and expressing her creativity in the kitchen. Looking ahead, Destiny’s goal is to one day open her own grooming shop, where she can continue to grow her skills and provide top-quality care for pets in her community.
Meet Keeley, one of the talented professional pet stylists at Cali Pets! Since starting her grooming journey in May 2016, Keeley has been turning wagging tails into works of art, especially when it comes to her favorite breeds, Doodles and Pomeranians. Her passion for grooming began in childhood, watching her family’s pets get pampered by their mobile groomer, Susan. What started as awe and amazement quickly grew into a full-blown career fueled by creativity and connection. Today, Keeley loves collaborating with pet parents, translating their ideas and requests into grooms that perfectly match each pup’s personality. When she’s not behind the grooming table, you’ll likely find Keeley soaking up the sun at Fiesta Island Dog Park or capturing life’s cutest moments through her camera lens. With a keen eye for detail, a love for animals, and a playful spirit, Keeley is dedicated to making every pet look and feel their absolute best!
Ashley P. is a passionate and dedicated dog groomer with five years of hands-on experience and formal field education. With a strong foundation already in place, she is excited to continue growing her skills, especially exploring more creative and fun grooming styles that bring out each dog’s unique personality. What truly sets Ashley apart is her deep love for building trust with every dog she works with. She values the quiet connection that forms during grooming sessions, finding joy in seeing her furry clients relaxed, comfortable, and happy. For Ashley, grooming isn’t just a service—it’s the start of a genuine friendship. She has a special appreciation for double-coated breeds like Australian Shepherds, Pomeranians, and Golden Retrievers, where her scissoring and blending techniques create a soft, airbrushed finish. She also adores working with Shih Tzus, whose squishy faces and luxurious coats make them perfect for playful, fusion-inspired styles. Ashley’s goal is to fill her schedule with the dogs and breeds she loves most, creating a calm, one-on-one environment where both she and the dog can feel at ease and connected. When she’s not grooming, you’ll find Ashley dancing at music festivals, enjoying movie nights, or soaking up cozy, joy-filled moments at home with her two Chihuahua mixes, Ally and Buddy.
Brenna Davidson is a passionate pet stylist with four years of grooming experience and a true love for helping pets look and feel their best. She especially enjoys working with curly poodle and doodle coats, as well as terriers, and takes pride in creating stylish, comfortable grooms tailored to each pet. One of Brenna’s favorite parts of grooming is seeing dogs get excited to visit her and leave feeling happy, confident, and refreshed. When she’s not in the salon, Brenna enjoys relaxing with a good book and her cat, Kinkajou, or heading out with friends to catch the latest movies. Her warm personality and dedication to every pet make her a valued part of the Cali Pets team.

Jackie is a fun, caring, and highly motivated bather who aspires to be a pet groomer in the near future. She is a mom of three fur babies. Toby, Löki, and Kirara. On her days off she loves working on her crochet pieces, reading up on the latest pet grooming news, and most importantly she loves to spend time with her family and fur babies.
Meet Bella! Over the past year, she’s been a friendly face in both our store and reception, helping keep things running smoothly while making every pet parent feel welcome. Bella loves learning and recently enrolled at California State University San Marcos, bringing that same curiosity and dedication into everything she does. It didn’t take long for Bella to fall in love with the world of grooming, being surrounded by dogs every day sparked a real passion for their care and well-being. Inspired by the amazing work of our grooming team, Bella decided to dive in paws-first and began her Professional Bather course in April 2026. She quickly discovered how much she enjoys the hands-on side of working with dogs, from pampering pups to making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. Keep up with Bella on her Instagram!
Meet Lexi, one of the friendly faces joining the Cali Pets crew at our new location! With 5 years of bathing experience, Lexi brings patience, passion, and genuine love for every pet she meets. After the pandemic, working with animals became a source of comfort and purpose for her, inspiring her to learn more about the many amazing breeds and personalities she works with every day. As a proud Frenchie mom and cat lover with a senior kitty at home, Lexi understands how important trust and care are when it comes to our furry family members. She takes pride in building lasting relationships with both pets and their humans, making every visit feel safe, loving, and stress-free. When she’s not at the salon, you can find Lexi roller skating, spending time with family, and soaking up life with the animals she adores. She’s beyond excited to meet all the sweet babies that come through Cali Pets and can’t wait to pamper your pups with extra love and care!
